-
Ladder and Engine 65 were dispatched around noon to assist Station 67 (Gilbertsville) on a working fire at Miller and Henry Roads in Douglass Township. Asst. 67 (Duncan) arrived to find a 2 1/2 story stone farmhouse heavily involved. Squad 67 and Ladder 65 arrived at the same time and went in service. Squad crews pulled a line to the porch side of the dwelling and Ladder and Engine 65 crews pulled multiple lines to the street side as well as threw ladders and ventilated. Crews worked shortly inside to darken down the structure and also worked on the roof to open up the tin and cedar shake roof for ventilation. Engine 38 arrived and assisted with entry into the 2nd floor to control the fire spread. eventually the fire was brought under control. Numerous companies were used to overhaul the structure. Berks Station 15 were called for RIT then put in service. Bucks Tower 18, who were in Station 65 were called in to handle RIT once Berks 15 went in service. 65 crews were returned to service around 1830 hours. Thank you to Bucks Engine 56, Tower 74 who stood by and covered an accident with injuries on Route 663 as well as helped out with putting our company back in service.
