Come out to the Pennsburg Fire Company station at 501 Penn Street Pennsburg for our annual Fire Prevention Open House. This years open house is scheduled for October 7th between 7pm and 9pm. There will be a fire prevention table set up inside with fire safety literature and fire prevention items for the kids. This years Fire Prevention theme is Hear it Beep where you sleep..... Make sure you have a working smoke detector in every bedroom. Our members will be on hand to show you some ways to make and keep your home fire safe and how to check your smoke detectors and how to change your batteries.. A few things to remember: Change your smoke detector batteries at least once a year but check them monthly. Keep all combustible materials away from every heat source. Try not to use extension cords. Plug electrical items directly into the outlet. If using extension cords, please make sure that they are rated for what you are using them for. If you have questions, please ask one of our members. Have a fire exit plan and meeting place in the event of a fire. We hope to see you at our station.
